Dr. Bilal Hameed is Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Ambulatory Chair of Hepatology at UCSF Medical Center, and Director of the Steatotic Liver Clinic. His research focuses on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) therapeutics, alcohol-associated liver disease, portal hypertension, and primary sclerosing cholangitis. He co-chaired the AASLD task force on steatotic liver disease nomenclature and serves as site PI for the NIH-funded NASH Clinical Research Network and co-PI for the NIH-funded Liver Cirrhosis Network. Dr. Hameed has led multiple clinical trials and has authored numerous impactful peer-reviewed publications.
