
Dr. Dimple Patel Desai is a dual board-certified physician in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine, serving as Principal Investigator and South Texas Medical Director at the South Texas Research Institute. She leads clinical trials focused on metabolic diseases, liver disorders, and CNS conditions, with emphasis on MASH and Alzheimer's disease in underserved Hispanic populations in the Rio Grande Valley.
Dr. Desai completed her medical degree and residency in Family Medicine at UT Medical Branch in Galveston (Chief Resident) and holds an MPH from UMass Amherst, with additional certifications in Primary Care Psychiatry, Global Health, and Behavioral Health Integration. She has presented at AASLD and AAFP national conferences and is a published author in peer-reviewed journals, committed to health equity and community-based clinical research.
