Dr. Raj Vuppalanchi is a tenured Professor of Medicine and Director of Hepatology at Indiana University School of Medicine. He provides comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of liver disorders at the Digestive and Liver Disorder Clinic at Indiana University Hospital. His research focuses on patient-centered approaches and innovative therapies and deliveries of care. He is a clinical trialist working to advance novel therapeutics for MASH, cholestatic and autoimmune liver diseases such as PSC, PBC, and AIH, and cirrhosis. Dr. Vuppalanchi has made significant contributions to the development of non-invasive tests for assessing liver disease severity, including the use of transient elastography for liver and spleen stiffness measurements and MRI. He has also published extensively on the hepatic safety of pharmaceuticals, as well as herbal and dietary supplements.
