
Dr. Kris Kowdley is Director of Liver Institute Northwest and professor at the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine, Washington State University, and Senior Scientific Advisor and Medical Director at Velocity Clinical Research. He received his BS from Columbia University and his MD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, completing his Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at Tufts.
Internationally recognized in liver disease, Dr. Kowdley has led major clinical trials for hepatitis C, primary biliary cholangitis, primary sclerosing cholangitis, and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. His NIH-funded research program has been continuous since 1999. He has authored more than 1,000 articles with over 83,000 citations (h-index 131) and is on the Web of Science "Highly Cited Researchers" list (top 1%) for 2020-2024.
