
Dr. Mellinger is an Associate Professor and Senior Staff Physician in Internal Medicine and Psychiatry at Henry Ford Health-Michigan State University, practicing in general and transplant hepatology with a special focus on alcohol-related liver disease. She holds her MD from Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, Masters' degrees in English Literature and History of Medicine from Oxford University (Rhodes Scholar), and a Masters in Health and Healthcare Research from the University of Michigan. In 2018 she co-founded the Michigan Alcohol Improvement Network's Multidisciplinary ALD clinic — one of the first fully integrated alcohol and liver disease treatment clinics in the US — and is now Clinical Director of the Henry Ford Health ALD Program.
